Why Location Access Is Required
Location access is required by the WiiM Home app to detect nearby products during setup and access your mobile device’s Wi-Fi network information.
Protecting your privacy is our priority. The WiiM Home app does not collect any location information.
Why Location Access Is Necessary for Setup
iOS
Apple requires location services to grant apps access to Wi-Fi details. This is part of Apple's security measures to ensure Wi-Fi information is only retrieved with the user's explicit consent.
iOS users must enable location access for WiiM device setup and Wi-Fi information access as required by Apple to secure Wi-Fi data access.
Android
Google mandates location permissions for apps accessing Wi-Fi details because network identifiers (like SSIDs) can potentially be used to estimate a device’s location. This requirement enhances privacy protection.
Android users must enable location access for WiiM device setup and Wi-Fi information access to comply with Android's privacy standards for retrieving Wi-Fi details.
