This tutorial will help you resolve common issues you may encounter when using Plex with your WiiM device.

Issue 1: Plex Media Server Unavailable


Issue Description


Plex Media Server is shown as unavailable when attempting to select a music library.


Solution


Follow these steps to resolve the issue:


  1. Ensure that your WiiM device, WiiM Home App, and Plex Media Server are connected to the same network.

    Note: Currently, WiiM Home App cannot access Plex Media Server on a different network even if Plex Media Server supports external access.
      
  2. Restart Plex Media Server and try again.
     
  3. If the issue persists, restart the device where Plex Media Server is running and then start Plex Media Server again.

Issue 2: Plex Media Server Login Failure on Android


On Android devices, if you are not redirected back to the WiiM Home app after entering your Plex Media Server credentials, set Google Chrome as the default browser to resolve the issue.
