Introduction to AirPlay


AirPlay is Apple's wireless streaming technology that lets you easily stream audio and video from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to compatible devices. With AirPlay, you can send your favorite music, movies, podcasts, and more directly to your WiiM devices, creating a seamless audio experience across your home.

Supported AirPlay Products:

  • WiiM Mini
  • WiiM Pro
  • WiiM Pro Plus
  • WiiM Amp

Unsupported AirPlay Products:

  • WiiM Ultra
  • WiiM Amp Pro

Supported Streaming Quality via AirPlay:

  1. AAC (16-bit/44.1kHz, 256 kbps)
  2. ALAC (16-bit/44.1kHz, 900 kbps)

Note: Streaming quality is determined by the app being used.



Start an AirPlay Stream Using Your iPhone or iPad


You can stream audio from your iPhone or iPad to supported WiiM devices through the Control Center. Follow these steps to get started:


1. Open the Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner of your iPhone or iPad screen.

2. Locate the audio card in the upper-right corner and tap the AirPlay icon.

3. Select one or more WiiM devices to stream the same audio to all of them via AirPlay.

   

Alternatively, you can stream AirPlay audio directly from certain apps like Apple Music, Spotify, or Amazon Music. Open the app, tap the AirPlay icon, and choose your WiiM device.

Start an AirPlay Stream Using Your Mac


To stream audio from your Mac to supported WiiM devices, follow these steps:


1. Open System Preferences and select Sound.

2. In the Output tab, choose a WiiM device to begin streaming via AirPlay.

   

For quick access, you can also click the Volume icon in the top-right corner of your screen (if enabled) and select your WiiM device.

TIP: For smoother playback and to minimize interruptions when streaming Apple Music, tap the AirPlay icon directly in the app and choose your WiiM devices to play music.
